Collection, processing and use of personal data

Data when visiting site
The Provider’s website can be visited without the user providing any personal information.

Data when using contact form
If the user sends an inquiry to the Provider via the online form, the user’s first and last names and email address are collected. The user can voluntarily add further details (e.g., company name). This data collection serves for quickly processing the contact request.

When sending a contact request to the Provider, the user agrees that the Provider can contact the user by email to process the contact request. After the product inquiry is processed, the user’s data will be deleted unless any legal retention periods are in effect.

Data when creating Customer accounts and placing orders
Without separate consent, the Customer’s personal data are collected by the Provider only for establishing, implementing, or terminating the contract with the Customer.

When placing orders and creating the Customer account, the Customer must provide certain mandatory data (first and last names, postal address, zip code, city name, country name, and email address). Further information provided by the Customer is voluntary. Only name and address data are passed to the shipping service commissioned with the delivery to process the order.

The data that the Customer provides when opening the account (including the username and password) are stored in encrypted form until the Customer has deleted their Customer account. The Provider has no access to the username or password. The data will be blocked from further use after the deletion of the Customer account and permanently deleted after the statutory retention periods expire.

Data that a Customer provides when placing an order without opening a Customer account will be stored until the order is completely processed and then blocked and deleted after the statutory retention periods expire.

Data transmission security (SSL encryption)

The user’s personal data are transferred to the Provider’s server using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security encryption technology.

Cookies

Cookies, which are small text files that are stored on the user’s computer, are used on the Provider’ webpages. However, the user can also use the Provider’s webpages if the user sets their browser so that cookies are not accepted. Although the user may refuse the use of cookies by selecting appropriate browser settings, the full website functionality may not be available if cookies are refused.

Rights of users to information and reporting/blocking/deletion

The user has the right to request information from the Provider at any time and free of charge about the user’s stored personal data, storage purpose, and recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data will be disclosed. Additionally, the user has the right to have these data corrected, blocked, or deleted.

Contact form

On our website, we offer users the opportunity to contact us via email and/or an online contact form. When a user contacts us via these methods, the user’s information is stored to facilitate communication with the user. None of this information is transferred to third parties or matched to any information that other components of our website may collect.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymization

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter “Google.” Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files that are placed on the user’s computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site.

The information generated by these cookies, for example, the time, place, and frequency of website visits, including the user’s IP address, is transmitted to Google, in the United States, and stored there.

Our website uses Google Analytics by adding the “_gat._anonymizeIp” extension, which already shortens and, thus, anonymizes IP addresses of users in European Union member states or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Google uses this information to evaluate how users use our website and compiles website activity reports and provides other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process information on behalf of Google.

According to their company policies, in no case will Google associate users’ IP addresses with other data from Google. Although users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting appropriate browser settings, the full website functionality may not be available if cookies are refused.

Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation addon for the most common browsers, which gives users more control over which data are collected by Google about which websites that users visit. Although the Google Analytics browser deactivation addon purportedly instructs the JavaScript (ga.js) module not to send any information about website visits to Google Analytics, the addon does not prevent information from being transmitted to the Provider or other web analytics services we may use. For more information on how to install the browser addon, click the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Jetpack/Wordpress.com Stats

This offer uses Jetpack, which is a tool for statistically analyzing visitor traffic, that is operated by Automattic, Inc., 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and uses tracking technology developed by Quantcast, Inc., 201 3rd St., Floor 2, San Francisco, CA 94103-3153, USA. WordPress.com-Stats uses “cookies,” which are text files that are placed on the user’s computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about users’ use of this website is stored on a server in the USA. The user’s IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. Although users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting appropriate browser settings, the full website functionality may not be available if cookies are refused. Users may object to the future collection and use of data by Quantcast by setting a browser opt-out cookie by clicking the link “Click here to opt-out”: http://www.quantcast.com/opt-out. However, if the user deletes all the cookies on their computer, the opt-out cookie will have to be reset.

Use of Google Web Fonts

External fonts, i.e., Google Fonts, are used on these web pages. Google Fonts is a service of Google, Inc. (“Google”). These web fonts are integrated into the Provider’s website via a server call, usually to a Google server based in the United States. This server call transmits to server information of Google about which of our internet pages that users have visited. Additionally, for visitors of these web pages, Google stores the IP address of the end device’s browser. More information about privacy policies of Google can be accessed here:
www.google.com/fonts#AboutPlace:about
www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Server log files

The Provider of the webpages automatically collects and stores information in so-called “server log files,” which the user’s browser automatically transmits to us. These files include the following information:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of accessing computer
  • Time of server request

These data cannot be assigned to a specific person and are not merged with other data sources. The Provider reserves the right to check these data retrospectively if the Provider becomes aware of specific indications of unlawful use.

Objection advertising mails

The use of contact data, which are published within the scope of the imprint obligation, for transmitting advertising and information materials that have not been expressly requested is hereby contradicted. The webpage operators expressly reserve the right to take legal action against persons sending unsolicited advertising information, such as spam emails.
